Update from Xcel Energy regarding gas service:

I hope by now we have been able to deliver this message to you by phone.

This is an important message from Xcel Energy.

We have rebuilt the equipment damaged this morning by debris from the flood. Starting at 6pm tonight, crews began going door-to-door to relight appliances, working as late as it is safe to continue. Please help our crews by turning on the outside lights around your home.

While many customers will have service restored today, we will need to continue relighting tomorrow beginning at 7am. If you would like us to re-light your appliances late this evening, please contact our Customer Care at 1-800-895-4999.

Remember that a person 18 years or older must be home to allow our crew to enter and to remain in the home until we complete our work. Do not attempt to relight appliances yourself. Our crews are trained to do that safely.

As a reminder, if you ever detect a sulfur or “rotten egg” smell inside your home, it could be the odorant we put in natural gas to help detect leaks. If you notice that smell, leave your home immediately. Do not turn any electrical devices on or off and never use any phone until you are outside and safely away from the area. Then, call 911 or call us at 1-800-895-2999.

Thank you again for your patience!
