Thank you to all Canyonites and locals who participated in the Slash Drop-off this weekend. We counted over 300 loads dropped off, which means 300 less loads of available fuel within the Canyon! Strong work everybody!

Eradicating slash (removing fuel) from the Canyon…

Special thanks to Boulder County for partnering with us to put on this event, and for supplying the staff with expertise to operate the excavator and tub grinder. Equal thanks to our volunteer firefighters (and their family members) who assisted in running the event, and helped community members unload slash.

The chips will be transported courtesy of Friar Farms where they will be used to make soil.

Boulder County Community Forestry Sort Yard Coordinator Wayne Harrington and Scott Anderson of Friar Farms look on as slash is processed.
