Coal Creek Fire Rescue held its first ever 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb this past weekend.

Three agencies were represented at the Westminster City Park. Firefighters climbed flights of stairs equivalent to 110 stories; the height of the World Trade Center Towers. The images and names of the 343 Firefighters that passed that day were carried during the stair climb.

Participants wore bunker gear, carried SCBAs, hose packs, weight vests and hand tools equivalent to what firefighters carried up the stairs in the World Trade Center Towers that fateful day.

The climb was held on the weekend to accommodate families and others with commitments during the week.
