Mountain Broadband owner Andy Hammond and Chief Ball take delivery of the snow cat this afternoon
Did you know that when we receive a smoke report – in addition to sending personnel into the field – we are now able to access a high-powered live camera which gives us a 360 degree real-time view of the district? The camera is mounted atop Mt. Thorodin, and we can quickly scour for smoke columns from computer screens in our station.
Were you aware that during heavy snowfall events we can now respond to emergencies in a snow cat to get places that fire apparatus cannot access?
These new enhanced emergency response capabilities are all thanks to Mountain Broadband who donated the use of their equipment to Coal Creek Fire. Many thanks to them for their assistance in keeping our community safe!
