Today Coal Creek Canyon Fire Rescue responded to a quarter acre grass fire inadvertently started by a vehicle, when the vehicle was in contact with dry grass. The fire spread quickly due to winds and conditions, producing tall flames lengths (from tall grasses.)

Coal Creek Canyon Fire Rescue units responded quickly to protect lives, homes and property, and the fire is now 100% contained. Although structures were immediately threatened, none were lost.

CCCVFD are thankful to have received assistance from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office,  Boulder County Fire Management personnel, Boulder Emergency Squad, and Fairmont Fire Rescue. We appreciate our neighboring agencies and departments.

Grasses in our area are tall and continuing to dry out as we head into fall, so please remain careful & vigilant within our community.
