Yesterday, Coal Creek Fire responded to a full involved structure fire above Twin Spruce Road. Fire crews accessed the scene and engaged the fire, containing it and protecting the exposures (the neighboring homes, and surrounding trees.) Water supply was provided by Coal Creek Canyon with additional mutual aid water shuttle and firefighting support by neighboring fire departments.
Due to on scene access & safety hazards, the fire was knocked down but not fully extinguished. Coal Creek Fire crews monitored the fire overnight.
Another operation to extinguish the fire will occur today, and again Coal Creek Fire volunteers will monitor the fire overnight.
Smoke and flame may well continue to be visible however Coal Creek Fire are on scene monitoring the situation.
