UPDATE: The NWS upgraded the Fire Weather Watch for Thursday, April 13 to a Red Flag Warning. NO OPEN BURNING will still be in effect for the entire duration of the day.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Fire Weather Watch due to a forecast of low relative humidity and windy conditions. Critical fire weather conditions are expected in Coal Creek Canyon Wednesday, April 12 & Thursday, April 13. Because of these conditions, NO OPEN BURNING will be permitted either day.
NO OPEN BURNING – including campfires on private property – will be permitted within the CCC Fire Protection District Wednesday or Thursday. Gas & pellet grills and propane fire pits are okay.
Our fire weather zones are Fire Weather Zone 239 (below 6,400 ft) and Fire Weather Zone 215 (above 6,400 ft.).
